Each picture shows the little creature more and more distraught, until she finally explodes with emotion at dinnertime. Lola's parents respond generously with kisses, and all is well until bedtime when Lola worries whether her special words will be back on her lips in the morning. Resembling in spirit and content such books as Sam McBratney's Guess How Much I Love You? (1995, not reviewed), this book stars Lola, a nut-brown hamster who could be an adopted cousin of Nutbrown Hare. Lola feels words puffing out her cheeks, bursting inside her, but when she tries to express her special words, her father is leaving for work and her mother is too busy. The school bus, cafeteria, and playground are too noisy for the words to be heard, and the teacher is preoccupied. Lola returns home and sulks until the words unwittingly ``came flying out of her mouth and worked their magic.'' It's no surprise that Lola's special words are ``I love you, I love you! I love you so much!'' Hugs abound among the puffy-cheeked rodents in this mushy, overstated tale and its greeting-card message. Arrived on time, but it got stuck in the mail box (which wasn't Amazon`s fault) which made it a late Christmas gift. Wasn't the type of book I thought it was, but my niece still loved it and she's 4!

Wonderful story and illustrations

I purchased this book in Dutch when I was visiting Holland a few weeks ago. I always purchase a childrens' book for a little friend of mine when I travel overseas. Sometimes I'm able to find something in the native language with an English translation. Or, I buy the native language version and get some help with a translation. I spent quite a while looking through the childrens' section in an Amsterdam bookstore and fell in love with the story (which I thought I understood in spite of my lack of understanding of Dutch) and the illustrations. I got some help translating the book and will be curious to see how close my version comes to the published one! The illustrations are wonderful. I think they will appeal to 2-5 year-olds and also to the adults reading to them. There are some wonderful little details in them.

Some times you just have to say it...........

This book is wonderful! The pictures are great and the story is lovely.
My 7 year old refers to Lola as the little girl whose cheeks keep getting biggger until the words just have to come out.
The book only takes about 5 minutes to read but the message will last a life time. It tells children, and parents, how important it is that we tell the people we love, "I love you, I love you, I love you so much!"
This would be a great book for new parents to begin reading to their bundle of joy right from the start.
A favorite in our home and is sure to be one in your home too.

Classic Text which is the basis of GIA classification

Cornelius Hurlbut (1906 ,2005) a Harvard University Geologist and Robert Kammerling (c1947, 1996) of the Gemological Institute of America wrote an excellent text on Gem Identification. The book became the basis of the GIA course of colored stones and colored stones identification which are required for the GIA Graduate Gemologist designation. Chapters 1-7 give basic facts on origin of gems, crystallography, chemical formulas, physical properties (hardness, specific gravity, heat conductivity), colors and optical properties. Chapters 6-7 also discuss equipment used in gem identification (specific gravity scales, heat testers, refractometer, reflectivity meters, polariscope, condensing sphere). The most important gem identification instrument is the refractometer and the authors give a detailed discussion of its uses which nicely supplements the GIA `lab manual'. Chapter 8 and 9 discuss the microscope and loupe and the spectrophotometer. Chapter 11 discusses synthetic stones (which have the same chemical, optical, and physical properties of the natural stones) and imitation stones (which merely resemble the natural stones.) The other chapters discuss enhancement, fashioning and the properties of stones on the GIA gem identification "a" and "b" lists.

This book is an excellent source of information for people interested in the field of gemmology. I have found that the contents covers a wide range of topics and presented in an easily understood format. It is a concise and well-illustrated book which makes it ideal as a reference book

In the beginning, what a great read. .

First I am ADD so even though I buy an average of 3 to 5 new books a month I very rarely read the whole book, skipping sections, or even finish the book. I can count on one hand how many I have read from front to back. This is definitely one of them.

Okay, I had to preface this because I wanted you to understand that this book is really that good. But, if you are not a teacher or interested in reading about the history of the Internet and specifically about Information Marketing then don't buy this book.

I am a teacher and love history. I was enthralled and fascinated with the stories about the pioneers of online marketing. What a great book and an inspiration to all of us.

Joel Comm does a great job here in setting the record straight and letting us know that it was not that easy. There will always be those who use the excuse "It was easier for the Guru's when this was all new".

Two thumbs up on this one and that is hard to get from me. You will have to read the book to know what it was really like when they got their start.

Fascinating Insights into the Greatest Minds on the Internet!!

What a delightful book!! Jam-packed with HUGE names of multi-millionaire internet marketers I've admired for years - Alex Mandossian, Tom Antion, Mike Filsaime, Mark Joyner, Tellman Knudson, Armand Morin... my buds Declan Dunn & Jody Colvard (yay Declan & Jody!), plus many, many more!! And of course Joel Comm himself!!

I enjoyed the walk down history lane in the relatively short existence of internet marketing, along with all the real-life tales of ordinary men (and women!) who created *extraordinary* success doing what most people don't do: PERSIST!!

(Just a tidbit of feedback on the Kindle version: the TOC isn't all linked fully making navigation a tad challenging. Plus, the amazing directory of Internet Marketers at the back doesn't format properly for Kindle. Oh well I just may have to buy the print version too! LOL)

A Good & Motivating Read

Frankly speaking, when I bought this book, i don't expect much from it. I thought that this will be another stories collection...

But yes, it is definitely one hell of motivating stories collections!

After reading it, I can't stop thinking about IM and it really encourage me to start working on my internet business.

If you need to some push to get rid of your procrastination and laziness to work on your internet business, I recommend this book to you.

If I hear "how much wood" one more time I am gonna ...

This book certainly has variety.
One song featured a whole tone scale that I thought was pretty cool.

My daughter's favorite song was about a woodchuck.
She would sing in a raucous voice while she played.
Her teacher (as the book suggests) had her play it in minor as well.
She made up new words for that version about how the woodchuck died.

Another standout is Aardvark Boogie with the big left hand position change.
The other songs, some of which are not about small mammals, are good, too.

Piano Adventures Lesson Book is solid!

I have been teaching piano at the beginner and intermediate levels for ten years. I find the Faber & Faber Piano Adventures Lesson Book to be thorough with regard to well-rounded piano instruction. Their newer version duplicates some of the supplemental materials that I provide (i.e., pentachords, scales, I-IV-V chords), which my students learn far in advance of the book's timeline. By the time most of my students complete level 2A, they have memorized all the major pentachords and scales and are working on the minor keys. Still, for under $8 per lesson book, this series is affordable and packed with songs that my students enjoy learning. I appreciate the massive efforts of Faber & Faber to make piano study fun and steadily progressive.

Great research tool

As a Ph.d student in education this has become my bible for my research. The authors are super in depth about how to conduct research, quantifying results and research design in general. If you are a researcher in education this needs to be one that you use, and you will time and again.
